Juancho Hernangomez, a new player of Panathinaikos Athens coached by Ergin Ataman, told in an interview with Eurohoops that he does not appreciate so much being called “Bo Cruz” and that his life has changed since he did the movie Hustle together with Adam Sandler:
“I’m not happy that everyone calls me Bo Cruz, like everyone knows you. Or that everyone thinks they’re your friend because they see you on screen. It’s tough. Actors’ lives are tough. I talked to Adam Sandler, and Adam can’t go anywhere. He can’t go to the supermarket, he can’t go to the movies, he can’t do anything. So it’s a hard life. But the movie was great, the experience was great. Of course I played seven years in the NBA. I struggled all my life and my name is Juancho Hernangomez. At first I used to get angry when they called me Bo Cruz. But after a while I realized that Bo Cruz is part of Juancho Hernangomez’s life. If people recognize me just because of the movie, I say hello. If they like the film, I am happy for them because I also worked hard for the film.”
