Morale is inevitably low during a tough losing streak, but it is imperative that players keep their composure. Otherwise, there is a risk of things going further downhill. Luka Doncic needed a stress ball after the Dallas Mavericks (34-28) suffered a 137-120 defeat at the hands of the Indiana Pacers.
Well before the final buzzer sounded, the NBA’s leading scorer (34.5 points per game) let his emotions take over. During a timeout, he grabbed a water bottle from the empty chair next to him and spilled it on the floor. A Mavericks employee, apparently unsure how to react to the outburst, went to remove the remaining bottle before handing it back to the starting guard. Doncic angrily grabbed it from the individual..

Obviously, this is not good behavior for the 25-year-old superstar. Moreover, this is not the first time he has let his frustrations get the best of him. Both the Dallas head coach and Doncic himself have spoken of his tendency to argue with referees for not getting a favorable whistle, instead of rushing back to defense. Maintaining focus at all times is a must if the Mavs are to survive a brutally difficult Western Conference this postseason.
