The Memphis Grizzlies experienced the first part of the 2023-24 NBA season without the services of Ja Morant. Morant was suspended by Memphis for 25 games due to off-court misconduct. The point guard has since returned and blossomed in his season debut. Ja’s father, Tee Morant, defended the Grizzlies star and talked about how some people misunderstood his son’s image.
Tee Morant praised his son and talked about the impact of his break in a radio interview:
“Ja’s going to be a typical boy, a family boy… He’s going to be an inspiration to a lot of people in South Carolina, in Memphis, wherever he is. And he will act like a decent guy.”, Morant said, according to Sirius XM NBA Radio.
Morant’s father continued: “We have conversations. I tell you this boy is like that. Misunderstood? Quite a bit. Demonized? Quite a bit “.
Let’s see whether Tee Morant will be right or all those who are just waiting for Ja’s next misstep, after the many mistakes made in 2022-2023.
Recall that the Memphis point guard experienced a crazy season debut of 34 points, 8 assists, 6 rebounds and the game-winner against New Orleans.
