I Philadelphia 76ers boast a record of six (consecutive) wins and only one loss, in the first game against the Milwaukee Bucks and by only one point.
An extremely positive start, occurring immediately after the departure of James Harden, who has been on the outs with management and teammates for months. Without the “Beard,” the Sixers seem to have regained serenity, dragged by a Joel Embiid Even more dominant than usual.
Embiid himself, asked about the secret of this great start to the season, responded with a dig at his former partner: “Because on this team no one has an outsized ego.”
Much of the credit is the culture we have, there is no one who feeds his ego within this team. We have welcomed new teammates very quickly, you can sense that we want to play together and that we are good together. I think this helps a lot, everyone is selfless and moves the ball a lot. We are happy and only think about the important things, which is wins.
