Scariolo met with Toronto Raptors board in Bologna

One of the candidates for the Toronto Raptors’ bench, Sergio Scariolo, met with representatives of the team in Bologna, according to a report by Il Corriere di Bologna, which adds that the meeting took place Thursday at the Majestic Hotel. Raptors president Masai Ujiri and the club’s general manager Bobby Wester were also present at the meeting. Recall that Scariolo worked for the Toronto Raptors between 2018 and 2021 as the first assistant to the Canadiens’ former head coach, Nick Nurse.

We should also mention that it is yesterday’s news from Jose Ignacio Huguet of Mundo Deportivo who reported that Scariolo met with Real Madrid representatives on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Virtus Segafredo Bologna CEO Luca Baraldi told Sportal that Scariolo will remain with the team for next season.

“This year we had some very positive moments, such as the victories in Madrid against Real and in Barcelona, then we definitely lost some games we could have won, but we are still very satisfied. We hope to stay in the EuroLeague next year. The market for some players is tied to that, but we are working as if we are already sure of our place. As for Scariolo, he has the contract, so he is definitely confirmed as our coach.”.
