Over the weekend the Los Angeles Clippers have lost Russell Westbrook, exited after 10′ from the game against Washington due to a fracture in his left hand. The point guard’s condition immediately seemed serious, in recent hours it was announced that Westbrook as expected had surgery. The recovery time is not short, although the Clippers hope to have him back in time for the Playoffs..

A not insignificant bummer given that the former MVP had become an important part of LA’s bench. In 58 games so far, Westbrook has scored 11.1 points on average with 5.1 rebounds and 4.4 assists, shooting 45 percent from the field.
The Clippers, who are still one of the title contenders, will likely play over a month without the leader of their second unit. Los Angeles is currently fourth in the West with a 39-20 record.
