Charles Barkely: “If I saw a black person with Trump’s mug shot, I would throw a FIST IN HIS FACE.”

In the past few hours Charles Barkley was a guest on CNN during a news broadcast. While he was in the studio, a clip was shown of Donald Trump, a candidate in the upcoming presidential election, while talking about his famous “mug shot”, or the mug shot that was taken of him on August 24, 2023, when he turned himself in to Atlanta authorities on extortion charges. It was the first time in American history that police took a mug shot of a president, former or incumbent.

Needless to say, the photo became in zero time one of Trump’s campaign symbols toward the 2024 ballot. To this day it is the main source of merchandising, somewhat like the slogan had been “Make America Great Again.” in the election that smiled on him in 2016.

In the video shown by CNN, Trump claimed that it is precisely African Americans who appreciate his mug shot, thus claiming to have broad support even from people who are commonly thought of as adverse to the tycoon. These words sent Barkley himself into a rage. “If I saw a black person walking down the street with Trump’s mug shot, I would punch him in the face.” said the NBA legend in a very calm tone, triggering a reaction from journalist Gayle King.

“I really think so. Would I be arrested for assault? I would pay my bail and go celebrate.” Barkley, who then continued. Sir Charles called Trump’s words. “an insult to all black people.” because, according to him, he would thus compare the plight of African Americans, who have been discriminated against for centuries, to his own, who, on the other hand, is a billionaire and certainly not a victim of discrimination. Finally, when the reporter wanted to point out that the trial is still ongoing and it has not been proven whether or not Trump is guilty of the crimes with which he is charged, Charles Barkley added: “Some things he actually did. He incited the Capitol Hill assault, he said the election was rigged. Those are lies, Gayle.”.
