LeBron James’s 2013 NBA Finals jersey sold for a MASSIVE amount of money

The jersey LeBron James wore during Game 7 of the 2013 NBA Finals has been sold at auction for $3.7 million, according to ESPN’s Dan Hajducky.

This ranks it as the third most expensive jersey sold at auction by Sotheby’s. Before them are the 1998 NBA Finals jersey of Michael Jordan ($10.91 million) and the jersey of Diego Armando Maradona of the match against England in the 1986 World Cup, which became famous for his “Mano de Diios” ($9.28 million).

The night in 2013 when he wore this tank top, LeBron James scored 37 points, with 12 rebounds and 4 assists. It was also the night the Miami Heat won the title against the San Antonio Spurs.

The jersey is from the season in which James won his fourth and final MVP award of the regular season, which moved him into third place All-Time with Wilt Chamberlain, behind Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (6) and Bill Russell and Michael Jordan (both with 5).

The previous record for a James jersey worn was for his 2020 NBA All-Star Game tank top, which sold for $630,000 in 2020. We are practically talking about 6 times as much as the previous record. Not a bad achievement.
