Slowly all the pieces of the puzzle are falling into place. After Adrian Griffin in Milwaukee, Nick Nurse in Philadelphia and Monty Williams in Detroit, now the Phoenix Suns have chosen their new coach: it will be Frank Vogel. The franchise eliminated in the second round of the Playoffs by Denver had immediately fired Monty Williams and began looking for a replacement, among the names was Nurse.
Vogel won the title on the bench of the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020 before being exonerated in the summer of 2022 at the end of a season without a Playoff appearance. He also coached Indiana and Orlando in his career and boasts a 431-389 career record.
The Suns, who must capitalize with the group led by Devin Booker and Kevin Durant, will have a full offseason. They will have to decide what to do with Chris Paul and DeAndre Ayton and improve the team to win the title in 2023.
