The Denver Nuggets defeated the Miami Heat in Game 1 of the 2023 NBA Finals thanks to another performance to remember by Nikola Jokic.
The two-time MVP ended the game with another triple-double, finishing with 27 points, 14 assists and 10 rebounds after shooting just 3/3 in the first half.
Nikola dominated the game as only he can, and former Nuggets coach, the legendary George Karl, shared his delight at Jokic’s brilliance.
“Curry and Jokic are the two players who have revolutionized the game the most in the last 15 years: a point guard not even 190 inches who shoots better than anyone before and a 213-inch giant who distributes the ball as well as the best guards. I wouldn’t have believed these unicorns could be if they had asked me a couple of decades ago.”, Karl wrote on Twitter.

Nikola Jokic is one of a kind, as George Karl said, and he continues to prove it game after game. The Serbian center has recorded nine triple-doubles in the current playoff series, averaging 29.8 points, 13.1 rebounds and 10.5 assists in his 16 games played, with the Nuggets are undefeated at home.
