The Orlando Magic fielded a skeleton team tonight against the Denver Nuggets. Franz Wagner starred on the Magic’s roster of seven rotation players out due to injury, and to make matters worse, rookie guard Anthony Black had to leave the game against the Nuggets due to an illness. In the first half, the Magic seemed destined for their fourth consecutive loss, despite Paul Banchero’s efforts.
However, in the third quarter, the Magic found their rhythm on offense, thanks mainly to Banchero’s stellar play. Despite putting up only seven points in the period, Banchero found himself in a rhythm and put up seven points in a 41-point quarter that turned the game against the Nuggets, which ended in a 122-120 victory for Orlando.
Bottom line, Paul Banchero looked like the biggest star on the court in a game that featured Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray. The Magic sophomore scored the first triple-double of his career, with 32 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists, while also adding three steals. As a result, Banchero now finds himself in very distinguished company.
Second ClutchPoints on X, Banchero is now one of seven players in NBA history to have made 30/10/10/3 games before he turned 22. The list includes LeBron James, Michael Jordan, Stephen Curry, Luka Doncic, Magic Johnson and Isiah Thomas,

According to StatMamba’s reporting on X, the Magic sophomore is the youngest wing since James (who made 32/11/11/5 on Jan. 4, 2006) to put up a 30-point triple-double; no small feat, since James, as everyone knows, would go on to become one of the most consistent stat-fillers in league history.
