Paul Banchero has one big regret after LeBron debut

Paolo Banchero made headlines Wednesday night when he made his NBA debut with a jaw-dropping performance with the Orlando Magic. Unfortunately for him, the Magic lost a close win against the Detroit Pistons with a final score of 113 to 109 for Motor City, which ruined the otherwise stellar night for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft.

Banchero did so well that they put him on the same level as then-rookie LeBron James as he put up 27 points in his first professional game. The 19-year-old shot 11 of 19 with 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 stoppages in 35 minutes of play. It would have been a perfect debut for the former Duke outfielder had the Magic been able to carve out a win.

For his part, however, Paul Banchero was not entirely satisfied with his performance. He said he was pleased with his excellent start, but at the same time Banchero knows he could have done more:

\”Knowing me, I felt I could have put 30 and above.\”, Banchero said. \”I missed way too many layups, but I\’m lucky. I want to thank my teammates for the support and I\’m excited to have started my NBA journey with a good night.\”.

\”It\’s a blessing, me being me I felt like I could\’ve had 30 somthin\’.\”
Paolo Banchero in high spirits after his historic performance but knows he has even more to give 🔥
