New York gets serious, Bojan Bogdanovic and Alec Burks arrive from Detroit

I New York Knicks in the last period, roughly since they acquired OG Anunoby in January, are one of the fittest teams in the NBA. Tom Thibodeau’s lineup has moved up the standings and is currently fourth in the East with a 33-18 record. To confirm themselves in the second half of the season as well, the Knicks have just concluded a trade with the Detroit Pistons taking two players who have been accosted to them several times in recent days: Bojan Bogdanovic and Alec Burks.

In exchange for Bogdanovic and Burks, the Pistons receive. Quentin Grimes, Malachi Richardson, Evan Fournier, Ryan Arcidiacono and two second-round draft picks. Grimes is in his third NBA season and was one of the most interesting prospects on the Big Apple roster, in this RS he is scoring 7.3 point average.

Burks, who has already played for the Knicks from 2020 to 2022, was scoring 12.6 points on average coming off the bench for Detroit, while Bogdanovic was so far the Pistons’ second-best scorer with 20.2 points per game. They will reinforce New York’s rotation in no small part and at the same time free up minutes for Simone Fontecchio, who arrived in Detroit yesterday.
