NBA preseason, Utah beats Portland but Fontecchio remains in the post

Tonight the Utah Jazz beat the Portland Trail Blazers 118 to 101 but Simone Fontecchio, despite playing more than last night\’s opener, never finds his way to the basket and finished with 0 points and a paltry 0/2 from the field, with 1 rebound and 1 assist.

Of course, there is no need to worry, Simone will have time and way to make up for it, as he also said, he is adapting to this new world, different from Europe. On the positive side, coach Will Hardy gave him a couple more minutes than he did in his debut.

If it wasn\’t a memorable night for Fontecchio, good signs from the Utah Jazz as they took on a potential playoff franchise like Portland. We are still in preseason, top players play few minutes, however, better to have positive impressions than negative ones. Jordan Clarkson and Mike Conley were the top scorers of the night for the Salt Lake City team, scoring 19 and 16 points, respectively.

The preseason adjustment process for Fontecchio will continue next week, Oct. 11, against Gregg Popovich\’s San Antonio Spurs. Will Simone be able to snatch a few more minutes and score at least a dozen points? Let\’s see.
