Doc Rivers doesn’t want to coach at All-Star Game and is ready to make an EXTRAvagant proposal to Adam Silver

The Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Dallas Mavericks 129-117 on Saturday night, and the victory ensured that Doc Rivers, coach of the Bucks, will be the Eastern Conference coach in the NBA All-Star Game mid-month.

But the Bucks coach is not thrilled with this concept, as he just took over for the fired Adrian Griffin. Rivers commented on the situation, according to Tim MacMahon of ESPN:

“This is ridiculously bad.”. He plans to give Adrian Griffin his All-Star ring and bonus. Rivers suggests sending his staff to Indianapolis and going on a beach vacation. He will ask Adam Silver.”

The coaches of each team are determined by the rankings two weeks before the All-Star Game. The coaching staffs of the East and West leaders are matched with the captain of their respective conference. However, if the leading coaching staff coached the previous All-Star Game, the coaching staff of the runner-up is selected.

The reason for these quirky circumstances is that a staff cannot coach in consecutive All-Star Games, leaving Boston Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla automatically out of the running.
