Luka Doncic has shown, in addition to being a fantastic basketball player, that he doesn’t mince his words and doesn’t send things his way during his so far short NBA career: a less than idyllic relationship with referees, a few over-the-top interviews and an episode, which happened a few hours ago, that confirms the character of the Slovenian superstar of the Dallas Mavericks.
Luka Doncic faced in the night the Sacramento Kings, defeating them 107-103 for what is the Mavs’ 44th win of the season. With the game in the balance in the final possessions, Doncic sent the decisive free throws on target for the Texans’ success on the Californians’ court and, as he returned to the bench for a timeout, pointed Vlade Divac, adding a few not-so-nice words to the gesture; at the end of the game, with his teammates busy celebrating, Doncic continued to point his finger at the former Lakers, Hornets and Kings long player, shouting at the audience:
“Take it up with him, he should have dragged me!“
With a clear reference to the 2018 NBA Draft, when Sacramento’s then GM was precisely Divac, who preferred to pick with the second overall call Marvin Bagley III (now a Washington Wizards player), leaving Doncic to the Atlanta Hawks, who then traded him to Dallas for fifth-round pick Trae Young.

Doncic, this season, is traveling at insane averages of 33.8 points, 9.1 rebounds and 9.8 assists and tonight against the Kings he signed a 26-point, 9-rebound and 12-assist performance in 41 minutes on the floor.
