Scoot Henderson’s rookie season was anything but picturesque, and his difficulties were compounded by Friday’s loss to the Miami Heat, with the guard finishing with the worst plus-minus in NBA history: -58.
The Portland Trail Blazers suffered a historic defeat at the hands of the Heat, losing 142-82. The 60-point spread was the eighth-largest margin of victory in NBA history.

But perhaps most embarrassing for Portland is that it was only the second largest margin this season, with the young Trail Blazers losing 139-77 to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Jan. 11 this year.
Scoot Henderson was the center of attention in that game as well, finishing with a -56, which before tonight was the second worst plus-minus in NBA history, behind only the Cleveland Cavaliers’ Manny Harris in the 2011 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers.
Attributing the defeat to the rookie would be shortsighted, however, as the agile guard finished with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists.
However, he does not want this pattern to continue throughout his NBA career. He is already the only player in league history to have two games with a plus-minus of minus 56 or worse.
