I Los Angeles Lakers will most likely start the season with Russell Westbrook, despite rumors that he has been involved for almost a year. It is no secret that the yellow-viola have been trying hard to give Russ up without success, although they might have succeeded in the end. According to The Athletic, the Lakers would seriously consider giving up, along with Westbrook, the two first-round picks in the 2027 and 2029 drafts. at Indiana Pacers, to get Buddy Hield and Myles Turner.
If LA put the two choices, i.e., the two most palatable assets in its possession, on the platter, the Pacers would immediately accept, according to reports. The final rethink, however, came from the GM. Rob Pelinka. The executive would eventually decide not to accept the offer to evaluate how the team will play this year, still with Westbrook. Perhaps it will be discussed again later in the season if, like last year, the point guard struggles mightily.
