We all know what has happened to Kyrie Irving over the past few months. This is only part of what it is. However, what some people may not be aware of is the fact that the Brooklyn Nets superstar is also a true MVP from a human perspective.
A clear testimony to this fact is how Kyrie recently made a substantial donation to help a college student in need. Howard University’s Destiny Thompson set up a GoFundMe page to raise money for her tuition fee. Irving, also originally from New Jersey, learned about the fundraiser and did not hesitate in donating nearly four times the expected amount of $6,000. The Nets All-Star donated $22,000, which brought the total to nearly $24,000.
“I’m super happy. I never thought in a million years that anyone would give me anything. And I want to say thank you a thousand times for blessing me in this way, Mr. Kyrie Irving. I really don’t know. I’m still in shock.”
Kyrie may be a controversial guy, but you can’t criticize this man for being very generous. This is far from the first time Irving has come out with such an act of selflessness. What makes it even more surprising is that he declined to comment on the donation.
