The Houston Rockets and Cleveland Cavaliers have performed well over the past year. One of the two teams is slowly rising to shatter dreams of a LeBron James and Steph Curry match-up at the NBA Play-In, while the other sits comfortably in third place in the Eastern Conference standings. However, one player who witnessed the rise of these teams never got to experience their peaks. His name is Kevin Porter Jr and he is now in the process of joining the Greek Basketball League.
Last season Kevin Porter Jr. faced many problems. He faced efficiency problems on the field and also had to deal with allegations of assault by his girlfriend. The Rockets have since sent him to the Oklahoma City Thunder. General manager Sam Presti did not know what to do with him, so much so that he pushed the team to waive the player. All hopes of returning to professional basketball seemed to have been thrown out the window. Good news then hit Kevin Porter Jr.
The former Rockets and Cavaliers guard is now destined for the Greek Basketball League. Kevin Porter Jr. will join PAOK for the rest of the season, according to reports by Shams Charania and Kelly Ilko of The Athletic. Porter will play for the ninth team in the league. PAOK has had only eight wins so far and hopes to achieve enough to overtake major teams such as Panathinaikos and Olympiacos in the standings.
Porter is expected to join the Greek club soon. The 23-year-old Porter was traded and waived in October. In January, he reached a plea deal in a New York City domestic assault case. https://t.co/a8U22AeGEk
