“I didn’t know I was on the court,” unbelievable technical foul to James Harden

Unbelievable what happened in Saturday’s game between Philadelphia 76ers e Denver Nuggets, finished 126-119.

Passed down in the annals as a fine win by Joel Embiid over Nikola Jokic, there was, however, a very curious episode that deserves to be pointed out.

During the third period, with Denver ahead 99-84, the Philadelphia 76ers had defended four on one play. Or rather, for part of an action. James Harden, in fact, had sat on the bench because of a misunderstanding with the coaching staff. In the course of the action he realized that he should have been on the court and entered just as the ball was not very close to him. He actually intercepted from behind (with his face, by the way) a pass from Bones Hyland. Play that was obviously punished with a technical foul, not capitalized by Jamal Murray.

A seemingly amateur mistake, however, that can happen even to overpaid professionals in franchises with numerous technical staffs.
