Goran Dragic announces retirement with a very special event

Goran Dragic has officially announced his retirement from playing basketball.

The Slovenian player made it known that ad August 2024 will play its last game in a event specially organized. It will be a performance of two days which will take place in Ljubljana. Dragic himself will hold a press conference in the Slovenian capital on Thursday, January 4, to unveil all the details. Also supporting him in the initiative is the city’s city council. Proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to charity through the foundation Dragic himself created.

The captain of 2017 European champion Slovenia remained a free agent after a season with very few appearances in a Milwaukee Bucks jersey. In the summer there had been talk of him returning to the Heat but so far that has not panned out. Dragic currently continues to live in Miami and was intent on playing one more year but at the moment no negotiations have materialized. It is likely, therefore, that he will stay put for the whole season and then retire precisely with the farewell night next August.
