Adelaide beats Phoenix: broken record that lasted 7 years

The NBA preseason continues, and among tonight’s results was the Adelaide 36ers’ incredible 134-124 victory over the Phoenix Suns. Not since 2015 has a non-American team won a friendly game on U.S. soil. That time it was the Fenerbahce Turks who pulled it off against the Brooklyn Nets, led by Zelimir Obradovic on the bench and newcomer Gigi Datome on the court, along with Jan Vesely and co..

The big stars tonight were Antonius Cleveland and Robert Franks, scorers of 22 and 32 points, respectively. The Suns’ best on the court were DeAndre Ayton and Mikal Bridges with 22 points apiece, as well as Cameron Payne, top scorer of the night for the Americans with 23.

It is not indicative of anything, it was the first friendly of the season for the Arizona franchise, it will have time and way to Farsi and achieve the goals that Chris Paul and his teammates have set for this 2022-2023. The fact remains, however, that the Adelaide Aussies broke a record that had lasted more than a decade, winning 134 to 124 at the Footprint Center in Phoenix.
