Will Lakers target Trae Young before trade deadline? 👀

The Los Angeles Lakers may have made improvements this offseason, but it seems that LeBron James and company are not satisfied. Although the Lakers came within four games of the NBA Finals a year ago, they are still reportedly looking for reinforcement at point guard, including several high-profile players.
A new report by Jovan Buha of The Athletic sheds light on some specific names that Los Angeles has been linked to, including Trae Young.

“According to Buha, the Lakers have pursued other star guards, including Damian Lillard, Kyle Lowry, and Kyrie Irving. Even this summer, some members of the organization, including James, were still interested in Irving, although in the end the front office prioritized continuity. Trae Young has long been on Los Angeles’ radar, and they are continuing to monitor the situation at the Atlanta Hawks.”

Trae Young’s situation in Atlanta is a bit of a mystery in NBA circles, and the Lakers want to monitor it. There have been several unconfirmed market rumors surrounding the point guard since last season, but no word has been leaked from Young himself or his club, which has led some to wonder whether or not the former Oklahoma Sooner might be willing to move elsewhere. We shall see.
