Recovering the aging James Harden, who has shown signs of slowing down, may not be entirely attractive to a rebuilding franchise like the Houston Rockets, let alone the nature of his exit from the team.
However, according to NBA insider Marc Stein, the team’s owner, Tilman Fertitta, is ready to do anything to help the team quickly return to the levels of a few years ago, when there was Harden, precisely, and Chris Paul.
“Houston’s rebuild, however, is really too slow and one assumes that Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta is eager to see his team reclaim a measure of relevance.” Stein wrote. “You will notice that no one from Clutch City was quick to rule it out.”
James Harden has a player option with Philadelphia for 2023-24, which has only fueled talk of his potential reunion with the Rockets. However, the veteran guard and former MVP refused to discuss the rumor, adding that he is happy with the Sixers and how they are currently performing.
For now, fans will have to wait and see what happens in the offseason regarding Beard’s contract situation. That said, expect rumors of Harden’s reunion with the Houston Rockets to intensify in the coming months.
