The shadow of the racism also hovers over the NBA.
Not even the NBA seems to be immune from the scourge of racism that still plagues the sport. The complaint comes from Tyrese Haliburton who denounced theracist nsults he received from his brother in Milwaukee., during Game 1 of the series between the Bucks and the Indiana Pacers.
The Pacers star, who was born and raised right in Wisconsin, gave his side of the story.
During game 1 my family was also in the stands and my brother was apostrophized with the n-word. For our family this is very serious and we talked about it for a long time, it is not something we can accept. For me their presence here is very important at this time and fortunately my brother was able to handle the incident in the right way. During the regular season I always found friendliness from the stands because the fans know that I am from nearby however it is different when you are a “guest.”
The Milwaukee Bucks explained that a security staff member moved the Haliburton family who were occupying wrong seats. Just as the staff member approached, those involved reported the insult they received, even pointing to the alleged perpetrator. The accused, however, denied the accusation, and the episode seems to have ended there. We will see if the affair will have further developments in the coming days.
