The passion of Steve Nash for soccer is known to all, the Canadian is a big Tottenham fan, Inter Milan supporter and over the years has participated in several events such as charity matches. This year he will be among the stars of the The Soccer Tournament, an international summer tournament of 7 vs. 7. He will do so surprisingly with the jersey of Como 1907, representative of the Lombard club that plays in Serie B and that last year had made headlines in sports newspapers for the signing of Cesc Fabregas. The Spanish midfielder is right alongside Nash among the players on the Como roster for the TST, along with also Patrick Cutrone.
The Soccer Tournament is in its first year and will be held from June 1. Up for grabs, just as in The Basketball Tournament (the organizers are the same), is $1 million to be divided among roster members.
Como, placed in a group with the U.S. Women’s National Team representative, Say Word FC and the Wrexham Red Dragons, will make its debut on June 1 against the latter. Other well-known teams participating in the tournament with their own lineup will be Borussia Dortmund, West Ham, Wolverhampton and Hapoel Tel-Aviv.
