Pau Gasol comments on LeBron James’ absence at his jersey retirement ceremony

LeBron James did not attend the ceremony to retire Pau Gasol’s jersey from the Los Angeles Lakers.

The yellow-violet franchise’s star was not at the Arena when the Spanish legend’s #16 was hung from the ceiling, next to the jerseys worn by the late Kobe Bryant.

An absence that caused discussion, although the person directly involved seems to have given little thought to it. The expression with which Gasol commented on this absence during an interview with Spanish broadcaster Movistar, however, hints at some resentment: “I didn’t know he wasn’t coming, no one told me but I don’t really care, it wasn’t important to me.”
