There was little doubt, and on the night it was also officially announced: Paolo Banchero has won Rookie of the Year for the 2022-23 regular season.. The Italian-American, who we are still waiting to see whether or not he will play with the Italian national team, was among the best players in the Orlando Magic. Banchero scored 20.0 point average with 6.9 rebounds From first overall call at Draft 2022.
He is the third Magic player to win the award after Shaquille O’Neal and Mike Miller, who last succeeded in 2001. Banchero beat out competition from Walker Kessler of the Jazz and Jalen Williams of the Thunder to win the individual trophy.
