NBA GM believes there will be mad rush to tanking for Wembanyama

To say Victor Wembanyama caused a stir in NBA circles after his jaw-dropping 37-point performance against Scoot Henderson and the G League team, the Ignites, on Tuesday night would be a complete understatement.

Indeed, the way the expected first overall pick has taken the United States by storm should now have a major impact on the upcoming NBA season.

According to NBA gurus Adrian Wojnarowski and ESPN\’s Jonathan Givony, Wembanyama should have a potentially game-changing impact on the 2022-23 season. As one anonymous general manager put it, the rush for the long Frenchman may be unprecedented in the NBA:

\”Victor distorts the reality of basketball.\” a GM told ESPN on Wednesday. \”The tank/trade market will change for real with his arrival in the league. It looks like last night started a race to the bottom like we\’ve never seen.\”

So many teams are rebuilding, including Simone Fontecchio\’s Utah Jazz, who could make a huge upgrade by snapping up the services of the 2004-class French phenom.

Let\’s see if over the course of the season his numbers and performance will confirm all that magic he has shown this early fall.
