Draymond Green now has the tag of last in his class after the Golden State Warriors decided to renew both Jordan Poole and Andrew Wiggins, giving them lots of money over the weekend. Not surprisingly, Green\’s future still hangs in the balance and the Dubs have not yet decided to renew his current deal. But watch for Woj\’s bombshell on Green\’s future.
ESPN\’s NBA guru Adrian Wojnarowski shared his two cents on the Green-Warriors situation, and Woj is adamant that the Warriors can still keep Green, Poole, and Wiggins beyond this season. The popular broadcaster revealed that Draymond will \”almost certainly\” exercise his player option for 2023-2024. After all, he probably won\’t find a better deal elsewhere than the $27.5 million the Warriors will pay him if he decides to accept the offer:
\”If the Warriors win and Draymond is still a highly productive player and wants to be there, I don\’t think it means his days are necessarily numbered with Golden State. I think there\’s still plenty of time for the Warriors and Draymond Green to make that decision, but certainly I think signing him to his contract next summer is probably the most likely scenario.\”.
\”I think there is a lot of time left for the Warriors and Draymond Green to make that decision. [on a contract extension], but certainly I think the opt in on his contract next summer is probably the most likely scenario.\”
