One of the most famous things about the late Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant was the way he treated his teammates during his legendary nearly 20-year career with the franchise, culminating in five championship wins and many other playoff accomplishments. One of Kobe Bryant’s teammates during his legendary tenure with the Lakers was Matt Barnes, who spent two years in Los Angeles, from 2010 to 2012, as one of his many NBA stops around the league.
Recently, Matt Barnes stopped by the Los Angeles Clippers star’s P With Paul George podcast, presented by Wave Sports + Entertainment, to shed light on how Kobe Bryant had his back when he racked up fines under then-commisioner David Stern.
“I think one of the ladies told me. He didn’t tell me. Believe me, it was like, ‘Kobe took care of your fine.’ And I was like, ‘What? What? My boyfriend. That’s my boyfriend.’, Barnes said.
Kobe Bryant established himself as a major icon of the game during his legendary Lakers career, culminating with a 60-point performance against the Utah Jazz in his final game of the 2015-16 season.
