Usman Garuba, no return to EuroLeague: signing in NBA

After being cut by the Oklahoma City Thunder, who in turn had taken him from Houston, for Usman Garuba NBA adventure seemed to be in its final credits. For him there was talk of a return to the EuroLeague, where he had made his debut among the “big boys” with Real Madrid before being chosen at the 2021 Draft with the 23rd overall call-up. The Spanish center seemed close right to the Blancos, but according to Shams Charania he has now instead found a deal with the Golden State Warriors..

Garuba, Averaged 3.0 points and 4.1 rebounds at Houston last season, will sign a two-way contract with the Warriors. A solution to play his last chances in the NBA at just 21 years of age: the long player will seek a revival and a permanent spot in the Steve Kerr-coached lineup, a bit light under the basket. Indeed, the Warriors count only Kevon Looney, Draymond Green and Dario Saric in their frontcourt.
