It’s not official yet, but according to Shams Charania the participants in the upcoming Slam Dunk Contest will be Mac McClung, Jaylen Brown, Jaime Jaquez Jr and Jacob Toppin.
Aside from Brown, there are thus no superstars among the competing athletes. McClung is the defending champion, a 188-inch super athlete who plays for the Osceola Magic in the G-League. Jaquez Jr is the Miami Heat’s rookie, among the season’s best freshmen with 13.1 points average. Finally, Jacob is brother of Obi Toppin, he played only 2 games with the New York Knicks on the season (3′ total) spending the rest of his time in the G-League at the Westchester Knicks.
