This season. LaMarcus Aldridge, 37, never took the court, remaining a free agent since last summer. The veteran may now be back for a few months; in fact, in the past few hours he held a workout with the Dallas Mavericks, suddenly became contenders with the purchase of Kyrie Irving. L-Train had also done a similar thing with the Brooklyn Nets a couple of years ago, receiving at the time buyout from the Spurs to try to win the first career ring.
It had gone badly for Aldridge at the Nets, however: first halted by a heart problem and later, once back on the court, ending up on the fringes of the rotation especially in the Playoffs. Last season in Brooklyn, in 47 games played, the long man had scored. 12.9 points averaged with 5.5 rebounds. Only 2 appearances since March 8, however, including 4 NE in the series lost in a sweep against Boston.
Free agent F/C LaMarcus Aldridge is working out for the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday, sources tell ESPN. Aldridge, a seven-time All-Star, averaged 12.9 points in 47 games for Brooklyn a season ago.
