Kelly Oubre Jr. broke several ribs after being run over by a car

Kelly Oubre Jr. of the Philadelphia 76ers was hit by a car. Because of this he will miss a significant period of basketball activity. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Oubre reported several broken ribs, various bruises and multiple cuts.

The player was walking near his home in Philadelphia when he was hit by a car, as reported earlier by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. The incident occurred around 7 p.m. local time on Saturday, Nov. 11.

Local law enforcement agencies launched an investigation. The 27-year-old player was hospitalized the same evening but has since been discharged. The Sixers wing avoided more serious injuries, but will still be unable to play basketball for a significant period of time.

Kelly Oubre Jr. had a solid start to the season after moving from the Charlotte Hornets to the Sixers, averaging 16.3 points and 5.1 rebounds. Unfortunately, however, he won’t be able to lend a hand to Joel Embiid and teammates until at least the end of 2023, on a hunch. The hope is that we can see him on the court very soon. Really good luck Kelly!
