Jalen Brunson continued to score brilliantly. With 43 points, the New York Knicks guard led his team to a 121 to 117 victory over the Indiana Pacers in Game 1. Brunson’s big night made him the first player in NBA history to score at least 40 points and 1 triple in 4 consecutive playoff games.

Before Monday, the shooting guard had also scored 40 points in the team’s last three outings against the Philadelphia 76ers in the first round. With his fourth consecutive 40-point game, Brunson also became the first player with four consecutive 40-point games in the playoffs since Michael Jordan.

This season was arguably Jalen Brunson’s best. Named a first-time All-Star, the 6-foot-2 guard led the Knicks to a second-place finish during the regular season. During the team’s 82 games, Brunson averaged 28.7 points and 6.7 assists per game. When forward Julius Randle was injured in late January, many thought New York would have problems. However, the team continued to perform as a contender with Brunson leading the team.
Let’s see if the New York Knicks outfielder can repeat for the fifth time in a row. It doesn’t seem impossible the way he is playing but nothing is a given in the playoffs.
