Denver traded Kamagate: details of the trade and who his rights now belong to

On Thursday afternoon the Denver Nuggets made a minor trade with the Los Angeles Clippers, sending Ismael Kamagate’s draft rights to the Clippers in exchange for cash.

Kamagate was the 46th overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft. The Nuggets selected Christian Braun and Peyton Watson in the first round that year before adding Kamagate, who played in France the past two seasons before moving to Olimpia Milano and now on loan to Tortona.

Nuggets set their sights on Kamagate for Summer League last summer., but this trade means Denver did not expect to bring Kamagate anytime soon and decided to go in another direction.

This means that the center owned by Olimpia EA7 Milan if he were to go play in the NBA, as things stand today, he could only sign with the Los Angeles Clippers and nowhere else.

We’ll see if the Frenchman ever makes it to the NBA. First he has to become a starter in Milan and then a mainstay in the EuroLeague. Only then will the former Paris Basketball player have a way to access the most important championship in the world.
