Former NBA All-Star Isaiah Thomas is attempting a return to the NBA court after being absent since the 2021-22 season. Isaiah Thomas is playing with the Utah Jazz’s G-League affiliates, the Salt Lake City Stars, and has been impressive in his debut. During a recent appearance on the NBA’s FanDuel, “Run It Back”, Thomas talked about why he chose the G-League as his preferred destination to attempt a return to the NBA.
“I’m just fighting for an opportunity, just trying to prove to teams that I can still produce on the court.” Thomas said. “But most of all, I’m able to teach these young kids and show them every day how to be a professional and the things they miss. Abroad is really great, I see those games, I love the game of basketball, but at this point in my life, with my family and children, it would be really hard to go abroad.”.
“Ultimately I’m just fighting for an opportunity, I’m just trying to show teams that I’m still able to produce on the court, but I’m also most importantly, I’m able to teach these young guys.”@isaiahthomas On why he’s playing in the G-League.
