Ime Udoka’s first words after the scandal starring him

The Boston Celtics have officially suspended coach Ime Udoka for the 2022-23 NBA season because of an “intimate” and “improper” relationship with a female employee.

The news has rocked the NBA world since Adrian Wojnarowski issued a cryptic tweet hinting at a lengthy suspension. Now that it’s all official and out in the open, after the announcement of the punishment, Ime Udoka released his statement on the matter, as reported by Malika Andrews:

“I want to apologize to our players, to our fans, and to my family for disappointing them. I apologize to the team for putting them in this situation and access the team’s decision. Out of respect for everyone involved, I will not comment further at this time.”

It is an unfortunate turn of events after the Celtics were only one series away from winning an NBA title. Although all indications are that he will return once the suspension is lifted, there is a lot of time between then and now. More importantly, we need to understand what will come out of this matter. Was the relationship consensual? Was it not consensual? Who was this team member? How did he deal with her at work?
