Harden who? Embiid is recording Wilt Chamberlain-like numbers!

James Harden who? This will surely be the war cry of the Philadelphia 76ers from now on., especially when they started the year exceptionally well even after losing the services of the 10-time All-Star. Thanks to the continued dominance of Joel Embiid, the league’s reigning MVP, who is putting together Wilt Chamberlain-like numbers, the Sixers have been blazing on both ends of the court and recently earned a 106-103 victory over arch-rivals the Boston Celtics, winning their sixth game in a row.

Embiid, as his usual self, led the Sixers with 27 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists, making life difficult for the Celtics’ defense. In doing so, the 29-year-old center reached a historic landmark in franchise history that no one had touched in more than 50 years.

After the performance against the Celtics, Joel Embiid is now averaging 31.7 points and 10.9 rebounds on the season, becoming only the second player in Sixers history to average 30+ points and 10+ rebounds in the first seven games of the season, joining Wilt Chamberlain on this historic club. Chamberlain, in the 1965-66 season, held averages of 32 points and 23.9 rebounds to start his first full season as a member of the franchise.
