There was a time (not too long ago) when the Detroit Pistons, where Simone Fontecchio now plays, were laughed at by the entire NBA world because they had achieved the worst losing streak in a row in both a single season and straddling two. Yet, despite that, since the 1995 Italian boy class of 1995 arrived from the Utah Jazz, the music has changed and they now have even more wins than the Washington Wizards.
The Motor City lineup. has won 4 of the last 8 races and is now at 2 W’s in a row. He beat the Charlotte Hornets and Toronto Raptors. Definitely the addition of Simone Fontecchio was important for the Detroit Pistons. But equally, if not more, has been the growth of Jalen Duren, who finished with 24 points and 23 rebounds tonight against the Canadiens. Not bad for a kid who is barely 20 years old.
Although the Pistons’ winning ways may not please all fans, as the team should be looking to “tank” for quite some time, the last few wins have shown that the franchise still has some energy in the battery and a lot of talent for the future.
