Paolo Banchero played only two games in NBA Summer League, but it was more than enough to prove that this guy with an Italian passport deserves to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft. Golden State Warriors star, Draymond Green, has been one of those who has noticed Banchero’s jaw-dropping performance, and in his mind, Dray has no doubt that the Orlando Magic have unearthed a true gem in the 19-year-old rookie.
Speaking on The Draymond Green Show, the Warriors all-rounder had nothing but praise for Banchero. According to Green, what he saw from the former Duke was enough for him to realize that Paul Banchero is the real deal:
“I think Paolo Banchero is one of them. And the reason I think Paolo is one of those guys is because of the things he has done on the basketball court without scoring. I hope the NBA is ready for that player because that player is a winner. He played Summer League games like he was playing the NBA Finals. With that kind of intensity. This is a winner and we have it right in front of us.”.
