Devin Booker moves closer to a Steph Curry record after 52 at Pelicans

Devin Booker is known for his scoring prowess, and he proved it again tonight against the New Orleans Pelicans, moving closer to a Steph Curry record.

Boasting a fluid shooting form, an ability to finish at the basket and tons of shot-making moves, Booker can be described as a complete offensive player. Rising to prominence for his 70-point game in 2017, the Phoenix Suns superstar has given fans nights full of highlights in recent years, and tonight he hit the mark once again.

In dominant fashion against the New Orleans Pelicans, the three-time All-Star put up a 52 points, making six three-pointers and all 10 of his free throws.

His show tonight marked his sixth career game with no fewer than 50 points. In the first quarter alone Booker scored 25 points. Devin Booker now has 5 25-point periods in his entire career, the second highest in NBA history for this statistic after Steph Curry, according to NBA statistics.

Also, Booker is now the third player in NBA history to make consecutive 50-point games against a single opponent since the NBA-ABA merger, according to ESPN’s Marc J. Spears. The 27-year-old guard scored 58 points against the Pelicans in 2022.
