On the night Sabrina Ionescu set a new record, writing a new page not only in the WNBA but also in the NBA. During the WNBA All Star Weekend, the New York Liberty player in fact achieved a performance never seen in the history of basketball in the Three-point Contest.
Ionescu won the title of best shooter of this edition by scoring 37 points in the final. A resounding achievement, when you consider that the Liberty star pulled even 25/27 from three-point range. Included in this count is a 5/5 in the so-called Money Ball cart, worth 2 points, and 2/2 in the Starry Balls, the equivalent of “4-point shots” worth 3 in the competition.
