The career of Christian Koloko Is at great risk.
The Cameroonian center has suffered the cut by the Toronto Raptors, after three new players (Bruce Brown, Jordan Nwora and Kira Lewis) arrived in Canada as part of the trade that brought Pascal Siakam to the Indiana Pacers. Koloko has yet to play this year, officially because of respiratory problems. Now, however, it turns out that keeping him in the infirmary would be a problem with blood clotting.
The presence of these lumps prompted the NBA to put him on the Fitness-to-Play Panel, a program that monitors players who have more serious problems than just an injury. Currently, Koloko cannot play or practice with any franchise and it appears that his career may come to an abrupt end.
Selected in the 2022 Draft with the 33rd call, Koloko last year played 58 games in Toronto with nearly 20 starts in the starting five and took the court 12 times with the G-League affiliate. It seemed that the Arizona product would have to sign a new contract just the development league team to stay in the orbit of the Raptors, who are banking heavily on his athletic assets. At the moment, however, this will not happen, at least until Koloko resolves his health problems and receives the okay to return to the parquet.
