Danilo Gallinari recently ended up at the Detroit Pistons, following a trade that forced him to leave Washington.
A Motor City has not yet taken the field and remained on the bench on his first call-up. In the next few outings, however, he should find some space and has chosen to change his number.
Gallinari is historically tied to 8, the number that makes up his birth date in full (8/8/88), which, however, in the Wizards’ house was occupied by Deni Avdija, which led the Rooster to choose 88. In Detroit, the 8 is on Jared Rhoden’s shoulders but the Blue did not opt for 88 this time. He will wear the 12, a tribute to Papa Vittoria who helped write the history of Olimpia Milano with that number.
