Campazzo, we are (maybe) at the end of this Neverending Story!

Real Madrid did not match the offer made to Facundo Campazzo by Red Star Belgrade–a team that lost yesterday to Olimpia Milano after 6 straight wins–the ten-day deadline expired and the Spanish club lost the rights it had on the player.

Campazzo is now free to sign with the Serbian club, which offered him a contract until summer 2024, with the presence of an exit clause exercisable by the player for summer 2023, paying only $50,000.

Meanwhile, the Argentine point guard still owes Real Madrid 2.6 million euros from his NBA buyout, which he is paying in installments.

Campazzo’s total contract offer from Red Star is 4.3 million euros net (1.8+2.5), plus the Serbian club will help him with buyout payments to Real Madrid.

The deal between the two sides is expected to be official soon and would be the largest contract ever in Serbian basketball history.

Let’s see if indeed the Argentine axis consisting of Facundo Campazzo and Luca Vildoza will materialize in Belgrade to the happiness of Dusko Ivanovic and the Red and White fans.
