Breanna Stewart set Liberty franchise record in second game played

Since she set foot in the WNBA in 2016, there ‘s been no doubt that Breanna Stewart was one of the best players ever. The 1994-class wing, first overall call-up in the Draft, had so far worn only the Seattle Storm jersey in the WNBA, winning two titles both as Finals MVP and one regular season MVP. In recent months, however, Stewart had transferred to the New York Liberty as a free agent, to partner with another great talent-Sabrina Ionescu.

On Saturday there was Stewart’s debut with the Liberty: an unexciting double-double of 12 points and 12 rebounds in the KO against Washington. For the home debut, however, the player prepared something really special: at home against Indiana she scored as many as 45 points with 12 rebounds, shooting 15/21 from the field and 6/9 from three-point range. The 45 points are not only a career-high for Breanna Stewart, but also a franchise record for New York..
