Paolo Banchero of the Orlando Magic is arguably the most likely Rookie of the Year in the 2022-2023 NBA. Banchero only strengthened his case during tonight’s win over the Atlanta Hawks with his 20-point, 6-rebound, 6-assist performance.
The contest was the fifth time Banchero has put up at least 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists this season. No other rookie has done that this year according to the Twitter profile StatMuse.
The No. 1 pick from Duke University, Paolo Banchero made an immediate impression during the Summer League in Las Vegas, and the Magic sat him after only two games.
Banchero missed seven consecutive games earlier this season due to injury, but since returning to the lineup he has picked up exactly where he left off. As a rookie, he has become the Magic fans’ favorite player. He recently played five consecutive games scoring at least 20 points.
We always hope that Paolo Banchero will be able to play with Italy in the future, although these performances bring him closer and closer to Team USA, no use hiding behind a finger.
